The Farmer and the Field

The Farmer and the Field

A farmer plants wheat every year. But every third year, he plants nothing. He lets the field rest.

“Why?” asked a young farmer. “You’re losing a year of harvest.”

“No,” said the old farmer. “I’m giving the soil time to restore. If I plant every year, the soil wears out. Yields drop. Eventually, nothing grows.”

The field is your body. The crops are your lifts. If you plant every year without rest, you wear out. are the fallow years. They’re not lost time. They’re why the field keeps producing.
