The Sloppy PR
There was a lifter who hit a 315-lb squat. It was a . He posted it. Everyone congratulated him.
Nobody noticed that he cut depth by 3 inches, rounded his back at the bottom, and stood up with his weight shifted to his toes.
He added 10 more pounds the next week. Then another 10. Then one day his back gave out. He was out for four months.
When he came back, he started over with the bar. He learned what he should have learned the first time: that the weight on the bar was never the goal. The goal was to build a strong body that could handle increasing load safely for a lifetime.
His new 315 squat looked completely different. And it lasted.
