The Weightlifter’s Wrist
Olympic weightlifters have some of the most mobile wrists and shoulders in any sport. Not because they’re naturally flexible — because they’re forced to be.
The front rack position demands wrist extension, shoulder external rotation, and thoracic extension. If those aren’t available, the bar doesn’t rack. If the bar doesn’t rack, the lift doesn’t happen.
Mobility isn’t optional in weightlifting. It’s part of the lift. And it can be trained.
